About Maragatham Sundaresan (aka “Maragatham Mani”) is the lead teacher offering her services. She is a Sanskrit teacher, sloka teacher, bhajan teacher, Carnatic musician, and Natya Shastra expert.
She completed her Bachelor's, Master’s, and MPhil in Sanskrit from the University of Madras and taught Sanskrit to high school students in Chennai before arriving in the US in 1988.
She continued to teach Sanskrit in the Washington DC area through the local Chinmaya mission, through the introduction of Swamy Chinmayananda himself. In addition, she continued her training in Carnatic music, participating in local musical festivities and singing for dance Arangetrams and dance dramas, in addition to creating Sanskrit compositions for dance dramas.
In 2003, she moved to the Chicago area where she continued to teach Sanskrit for institutions (Chinmaya Mission, the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago, Samskrita Bharathi) as well as for individuals. In addition, she is a teacher of Slokas, Bhajans and Carnatic music to both children and adults.
