UNNATILOK - उन्नतिलोक

The Sanskrit word “Unnati” means progress and “Lok” means people or world. The main channel through which the world can progress is through knowledge, or “Vidya”. Only through Vidya can the world become more developed, less violent, more tolerant, more eco-friendly, and ultimately make all our lives more fulfilling.

विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयात् याति पात्रताम्।
पात्रत्वाद्धनमाप्नोति धनाद्धर्मं ततः सुखम्॥
Knowledge gives humility, from humility, one attains character; From character, one acquires wealth; from wealth good deeds (righteousness) follow and then happiness.

It may appear to be extremely ambitious to name a website this way, but we must all try to achieve our best in making at least small incremental changes, whether it is to a single individual, a small group of people or a much wider audience. The ancient Sanskrit texts of India teach much of this wisdom as does the Samskriti or culture that is closely attached to it.

Learning is an ongoing process. It is our past, present, and future. Sometimes we can not see the effects of learning immediately. Frustration or giving up is never the option. "

The purpose of this website is therefore to help spread the “Vidya” that is inherent in Samskrtam and in Samskrti.
